Here is a collection of shots taken. I try and keep them topical (ie seasonal or relative to local events), although some random shots will make their way here.
Weston Super Mare - April 2010
It wasn't quite the extraordinary sunset which was promised after the falling Icelandic volcanic dust, but it was certainly worth a walk along the beach. Here are a few shots from the evening.

The Sinking of the SS Norman - March 2010 (1897)
In March 1897, the Norwegian barque SS Norman became victim to the snow and gales driving up the Bristol coast. It eventually ran a-ground on Berrow beach, near Burnham-On-Sea.
Amid clearing mists, the ship was spotted allowing a successful rescue of the crew of ten and their dog.
To mark this anniversary, I decided to visit the wreck and capture it in its now depleted glory. The fact that the ship is still visible is somewhat surprising given the treacherous sinking mud within the area, but it certainly offers an alternative coastal view.

Winter Evenings - January 2010
Although it quite often seems that daylight evades me during the week, it is nice to catch some sunsets in the afternoon, and it does mean that if I want to take some shots in twilight, I don't have to wait until late.

Criky It's Cold! - January 2010
Somehow, I always tend to expect the weather to warm-up after Christmas, and then I'm reminded that there are plenty more chilly evenings and icy roads to come. I certainly didn't expect any of the snow that most of the country has recently experienced, but it does seem to bring the best out of people, with neighbours looking after their elder residents and motorists assisting the stranded.
Rather than stay in by the fire, I decided to wonder. I came accross this horse, who was unfazed by the harsh conditions and carried on its usual activities.

Autumn has arrived - October 2009
I'm never sure when autumn is actually here, but as Autumn Watch is on, that's good enough for me.
The changing seasons seem to bring new life around us, and trees develop wonderful colours, so what better way to start the new season that to crunch my way through the leaves of Westonbirt Arboretum?
From its beginning in around 1829, Westonbirt maintains and conserves a wide range of trees and ensures the future of the arboretum by planning for climate change.

Bristol Balloon Fiesta - August 2009
From 1979 the Bristol Ballon Fiesta has showcased a mass of hot air balloons, attracting crowds of over 100,000 over the 4 day event.
As well as the unique 'night glow' where balloons fire their burners together, creating an extraordinary scene, the balloons are launched in mass twice a day (upto 100 balloons at a time).
This year I decided to wake early and see the skies fill with floating colour.
